the wellness room

What's the the wellness room?

Located in our Lenapehoking (Manhattan) Community Center, the Urban Indigenous Wellness Room is an intentionally curated, grounding space co-designed with Indigenous therapists, artists, and community members.

Features include:


  • Natural light and grounding colors
  • Traditional medicines and plants
  • Art by Indigenous artists
  • Ceremonial tools and soft textures for safety and comfort


Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM


Cost: Currently, all therapy sessions are offered at no cost through grant-supported funding.


Insurance: UIC is in the credentialing process for Medicaid, Medicare, and select private insurance plans as part of our service expansion. Once approved, these options will be available to support sustainability and continued community care.
