UIC is in the process of building a more secure and accessible database. This database will launch for submissions and requests in early 2022. In the meantime, please use this Google Form to let us know any information you have about an MMIWGT2S case in the so-called Northeastern U.S.

Sovereign Bodies Institute | MMIP Survivor & Family Services

Sovereign Bodies Institute | MMIP Survivor & Family Services

Sovereign Bodies Institute provides support services to Indigenous survivors of violence and MMIWG2 families. 


  • Virtual Art Therapy Circles - Beading, Northern California Jewelry, Drop-In Craft Circle, Songwriting, Land-Based MMIWG2 Prayer Altars. Circles that require supplies provide free starter kits to Indigenous survivors and MMIWP families.


  • MMIWG2 Virtual Book Club - One novel and one non-fiction book per month, with financial assistance in purchasing ebooks for Indigenous survivors and MMIWP families.


  • Virtual Support Groups - Meet weekly on Thursdays--Survivors of Violence (2PM Pacific), Teen Girls & Young Women (3:30PM Pacific), MMIWP Families (5:30PM Pacific).


  • Support Line - Open 9AM-3PM Pacific, Monday through Saturday. Confidential call line that receives both calls and texts, that can provide emotional support and referrals to direct services throughout the US and Canada. Call or text us at (707) 335-6263.


  • Direct Services for Indigenous Survivors MMIWG2 Families - Can include help organizing or paying for vigils and memorials, referrals for therapists and healthcare, referrals for emergency or transitional housing, custom design work for awareness designs, emotional support, liaison to law enforcement and media, assistance in pushing cases forward, assistance in locating healing opportunities or resources. We have additional resources available to families within current study areas, Northern California and SE Montana.

Safe Horizon | Anti Trafficking Program

Sovereign Bodies Institute | MMIP Survivor & Family Services

Safe Horizon's Anti-Trafficking Program (ATP) is dedicated to supporting survivors of labor and sex trafficking in New York City. ATP is one of the largest direct service providers to victims of human trafficking on the east coast. Help us stop human trafficking.


We provide both legal and case management services to all victims of human trafficking – labor and sex trafficking – including men, women, children, foreign nationals or U.S. citizens.


ATP helps children and adults regardless of gender or gender identity so they can heal emotionally, find justice, and rebuild their lives.


We provide:


  • Culturally and linguistically sensitive services
  • Supportive counseling and empowerment groups
  • Assistance with basic needs
  • Legal assistance
  • Advocacy through the criminal justice system
  • Help with access to public benefits
  • Linkage to shelter and housing options
  • Linkages to other services

StrongHearts | Native Helpline

StrongHearts Native Helpline was created by and built to serve Indigenous communities across the United States. It is a culturally-appropriate, anonymous, confidential and free service dedicated to serving Native American and Alaska Native survivors and concerned family members and friends affected by domestic, dating and sexual violence.

Advocates are available 24/7 by texting or calling 1-844-7NATIVE (1-844-762-8483) or via online chat at strongheartshelpline.org. Relatives can connect with knowledgeable advocates who can provide lifesaving tools and immediate support to enable survivors to find safety and live lives free of abuse. StrongHearts Native Helpline is a proud partner of the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center and the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
